Would You Give Your Dog A Weekend?
Where has the time gone? I think we are all still coming out of the pandemic time warp — Is it really 2023? What happened in 2021? Everything is a bit of a blur…
I’m happy to say it is 2023. The world is open, we are traveling and gathering, and while we all are more competent with Zoom and Google Meet than we ever thought we would be, we are moving away from our screens and meeting in person. And it feels so much more normal!
Last year, as the world began opening up, I hosted the third Healthy Dog Expo. I’ll be honest, it was a bit scary. Would people want to come? Could they get here? Would they be comfortable sitting in a large room together? Thanks to the irrepressible spirit of dedicated dog people, the event was a resounding success, with people from all over the world coming together. We learned, we formed new friendships, and we had a weekend adventure to be remembered.
This year, with things being a bit easier, I chose to bring more to the Expo. More speakers. More exhibitors. More of everything you told me you enjoyed in the first three events. (Visit the website to see the details)
With the panel discussion, this year’s event on May 20-21 will have eleven speakers. More than 25 sponsor/exhibitors will be in the exhibit hall, with new products and services as well as perennial favorites. Of course there will be special deals for Expo guests, and loads of samples and gifts in your swag bags. Of course we’ll have the gift basket raffles, where you can win a basket of goodies valued at $200 or more. And one lucky winner will go home with a My Pet Laser from MultiRadiance Veterinary, valued at $4,000!
Many people have asked for a virtual event, or to download recordings of the talks. This is not something that will ever be available. The reason is simple. A live event has its own magic, and that simply cannot be streamed. Until you have experienced it, you cannot fully appreciate the energy of being surrounded by those who share your beliefs and goals. Your tribe, if you will. What you can learn by being there goes beyond the lectures. It’s the chance to talk face to face with experts, with the people behind the products you use, and to have lunch with people you only knew from social media. It’s a powerful experience.
This year’s event has something for the dog person of every type. The show and performance dog folks can learn how to have their athlete in better condition, make them more resistant to injury, and potentially have them performing at a high level for years longer than expected. Devote a weekend to your dog’s health and wellness, and have more competitive success!
For the hardworking people in rescue and shelter medicine, come and learn how to help these often physically challenged dogs recover more quickly. How many dogs are given up from chronic health or behavior issues that can be managed with alternative methods? You can learn how at the Expo! We may even show you ways that save money, something that is always in short supply in shelters and rescue.
Then there is the companion dog owner, who may have suffered the loss of a dog to cancer or other serious health issues, or may be in the midst of that battle now. Maybe conventional medicine has told you they have exhausted all treatment options. Let our experts share the many options that alternative and functional medicine offer. Especially when it comes to cancer, alternative methods often have success rates that are superior to conventional treatment.
It’s 2023. It’s time to act now, to learn how to do better for our dogs. This month, the world’s oldest dog is turning 31. Yes, 31. He lives in Portugal. Yet our dogs struggle in many cases beginning at age ten. Living a longer, better life than the current average is possible for our dogs. Spend the weekend with my experts and the natural dog health community and let us help you and your dog.
